Daily Prayer

You remind us, O Lord, that to be rooted in the gift of Life, takes a commitment to:
this fragile land which sustains us each day,

  • to all people, here and afar,
  • to friends and family from whom we draw our strength of love,
  • to outcast transients in our neighborhoods,
  • and to the plight of blight of our communities.

Being faithfully rooted is no easy task, and can even seem impossible to our struggling souls. But you demonstrated such a rootedness and commitment to us in your incarnation. You are "God with us".

And so we pray that we may be "faithful with you", and that you will instill in us the courage to take up the hard tasks of knowing you, and your overflowing provision and grace, while standing in place, with our sisters and brothers everywhere, and with your earth.

Amen.
